Automatic Total Phosphorus/Total Nitrogen Analyzer TPN-6200
The TPN-6200 is an automatic total phosphorus/total nitrogen analyzer which quickly and accurately measures total phosphorus and total nitrogen content in factory wastewater or river water in online mode.
This system has low reagent consumption, and can provide automatic neutralization treatment of waste liquid (optional). A dilution function can be built-in, and the system achieves space-savings and low running cost.

Principle of Measurement
An alkali aqueous solution of potassium peroxodisulfate is added to the sample, which is then heated and decomposed at 120 °C. Nitrogen compounds are decomposed into nitrate ions, and phosphorus compounds are decomposed into phosphate ions.
For total nitrogen, this solution is cooled, and the absorbance of two wavelengths is measured: 546 nm for turbidity correction, and 220 nm for nitrogen measurement. The total nitrogen value is obtained from a calibration curve for absorbance and total nitrogen stored beforehand in the signal processing unit.
For total phosphorus, ammonium molybdate solution and L-ascorbic acid solution are added to this solution to develop molybdenum blue. Then the absorbance of 880 nm is measured, and the total phosphorus value is obtained from a calibration curve for absorbance and total phosphorus stored beforehand in the signal processing unit.
