Reorganization of Solutions Businesses

Toray Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takashi Iwade; hereinafter “Toray Engineering”) announced that from April 1, 2020, its subsidiary TDS Co., Ltd. will be renamed Toray Engineering D Solutions Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “TDS”). At the same time, Toray Engineering’s solutions businesses will be split and integrated into TDS.

Solutions Businesses

The following solutions businesses will be transferred to TDS.

1) Measuring & analysis equipment business

This business carries out development, manufacturing, and sales of measuring and analysis equipment based on sensing technology, including oxygen analyzers, water quality analyzers, and ultrasonic sensors; mixing nozzles for injection molding machines utilizing static mixer; and other equipment.

2) Factory management & production management software business

Based on in-house developed production management systems and schedulers, system proposals are offered by utilizing experience and knowledge in a wide range of industries, such as chemical, medical, and semiconductor.s

3) Molding simulation business

In-house developed molding simulation software is offered, including 3D TIMON®, the first resin flow analysis software in the world to achieve three-dimensional warp analysis.

Transfer of Businesses to TDS

The above three businesses have been undertaken by Toray Engineering’s Electronics Division so far. However, to respond to the drastically changing business environment, including SDGs, 5G, CASE, DX, IoT, and AI, these businesses will be transferred to TDS. Going forward, TDS will accelerate the pace of business, and at the same time, build systems that can flexibly adapt to changes and apply technologies related to the keywords of “Device,” “Digital,” and “Design” to provide solutions with even higher customer satisfaction.
