We Participated in the Visit-and-Teach Program at Municipal Yamoto Higashi Elementary School in Higashi Matsuyama City in Miyagi Prefecture

On June 14 2022, our employee visited the municipal Yamoto Higashi Elementary School in Higashi Matsuyama City, Miyagi, as one of lecturers for the Visit-and-Teach Program and taught 6th graders in two classes (roughly 70 students).

This program organized by Toray Industries’ Tohoku Branch, which marked the 18th in the series, aims to support recovery efforts from the Great East Japan Earthquake and to contribute to local communities. In the program, our employee coached volleyball to teach the joy of physical exercises and the importance of teamwork by helping students foster sympathy toward others.

Starting with game-like warm-ups, our employee taught volleyball techniques for passing, tossing and serving a ball, and deepened exchanges with students. In the limited time available, the students were deeply immersed in learning volleyball techniques.

We rank Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as one of our essential management tasks. As a good corporate citizen, we continue our active involvement in and contributions to local communities through the “Visit-and-Teach” program.
