Toray Engineering Co., Ltd.

Exhibit at “Formnext”, the Next-Generation Intelligence Exhibition for 3D Printers

Toray Engineering Co., Ltd. (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO & COO: Takashi Iwade; hereinafter “TRENG”) will exhibit at the international exhibition for next-generation intelligence such as 3D printers and other technologies, “Formnext,” which will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from November 19 to 22, 2024.
At the exhibition, TRENG will present its “carbon fiber (CF) composite material 3D molding machine” using the core shell method, which it offers to the European market—a leading region for 3D printing technology.

In TRENG’s CF composite material 3D molding machine, a shell mold is gradually formed using a photopolymerizing 3D printer. Thermosetting CF composite material is then sequentially poured into the mold, followed by the final step of thermosetting the liquid CF composite material at once to shape the object. Unlike traditional 3D printers that create layered structures, this method ensures uniform strength and rigidity within the molded object, eliminating anisotropy and enabling the production of high-strength, high-rigidity structures.
At its booth, TRENG will showcase prototype samples created with the CF composite material 3D molding machine, catering to the needs of various fields such as aerospace, sports, and medical fields, along with video footage of the molding process.

TRENG continues to contribute to society, offering cutting-edge solutions for Monozukuri (manufacturing) through its technology, engineering, and know-how.
Below are additional details about the exhibition.
