TRENG D Launches TONOPS® Berth Reservation, a Truck Entry Reservation and Recording System with Industry-leading Cost Advantages

Toray Engineering D Solutions Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Ichiro Fukui, hereinafter "TRENG D") has developed TONOPS® Berth Reservation, a truck entry reservation and recording system, and will begin sales in April.
This product is a logistics DX solution designed to reduce truck waiting times and improve cargo handling efficiency by visualizing and optimizing waiting and handling times. In commercial delivery operations, the system enables truck entry reservations for berths (loading/unloading areas), facilitates schedule sharing between shippers and transportation companies, and records waiting and handling times. By focusing on essential functions for operations, it achieves industry-leading cost advantages.
TRENG D plans to offer this system as a subscription service starting from 30,000 yen per month, targeting shippers requiring truck entry management, as well as transport and warehouse operators. It aims to achieve 50 million yen in revenue by FY2025 and 300 million yen by FY2028.
One of the causes of the severe driver shortage, which has become a social issue known as the 2024 Logistics Problem, is the long waiting time for transport trucks after arriving at their destinations. A key reason for extended waiting times is the concentration of vehicle arrivals within specific time slots, overwhelming the shipper’s capacity to process incoming trucks. Additionally, in large-scale berths, unclear vehicle entry sequencing makes it difficult for shippers to prepare cargo handling operations in order, further contributing to waiting times.
To address these challenges, the government has issued guidelines for both shippers and transport companies, emphasizing the need to monitor waiting and handling times, reduce them to within two hours in principle, and collaborate on logistics improvements.
TONOPS® Berth Reservation allows shippers and transport companies to share berth entry schedules in advance and record waiting and handling times (check-in records), thereby visualizing and reducing these times. Additionally, by referencing reservation statuses and KPIs displayed on the dashboard, companies can promptly consider further improvements to streamline delivery operations. Recognizing the high demand for cost efficiency among users, TRENG D has focused on essential functions while retaining features such as Mail/SMS notifications and check-in capabilities, achieving industry-leading cost advantages.
TONOPS® has previously contributed to operational improvements across various industries with its automation and management tools, including the production scheduling system TONOPS® Scheduler and the production process and quality management system TONOPS® Process Management. In 2022, TRENG D launched the TONOPS® Logistics series, releasing a logistics management system equipped with AI-based delivery route optimization for manufacturing, retail, and food service industries. Now, TRENG D has added TONOPS® Berth Reservation to the series.
Through the development of the TONOPS® series, TRENG D will continue contributing to solving efficiency challenges in production and logistics operations. TRENG D will continue to make full use of the Toray Engineering Group’s technology, engineering, and know-how to provide solutions to a wide range of issues for Monozukuri (manufacturing).
